BASIC FUNCTION:

The role of the Specialized Instruction Facilitator is to deliver tailored educational strategies to students within their designated caseload. This instruction must align with the students' capabilities, subject matter, and personal growth characteristics. Collaboration with educators and service providers is essential to formulate specific, measurable objectives and to identify suitable accommodations for each student's individualized education plan.

EMPLOYMENT MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree and licensure in Special Education (Intervention Specialist).

• Valid teaching certificate or license in Ohio.

• Clear criminal background as verified by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

• Proven organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to compile, document, and manage information and statistical data.

• Competence in administering, scoring, and interpreting individual achievement assessments.

• Familiarity with the Ohio Department of Education’s model curriculum and New Learning Standards.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding student records and school operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Specialized Instruction Facilitator will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

Special Education:

• Understand and apply Special Education policies and regulations.

• Provide customized instruction in accordance with each student's individualized education program.

• Collaborate with staff and service providers to create individualized, measurable goals for students.

• Work alongside educators to determine appropriate accommodations and interventions.

• Assist in the completion of IEP Progress Reports for assigned students.

• Attend IEP and IAT meetings as required.

Instructional Skills:

• Exhibit effective planning and preparation.

• Utilize diverse methods and techniques to address student needs.

• Foster an engaging classroom atmosphere.

• Promote the responsible use of educational resources.

• Remain open to innovative ideas and approaches.

• Exhibit enthusiasm and effective communication skills.

• Teach social skills and critical thinking to students.

• Assess and report on student progress using approved tools.

• Adhere to the instructional design framework of the organization.

Classroom Management:

• Build and maintain positive relationships with students and staff.

• Establish a consistent classroom routine.

• Set clear expectations for student behavior.

• Enforce school policies and procedures.

• Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports.

Professional Attitude and Relationships:

• Interact professionally with colleagues and stakeholders.

• Demonstrate a positive attitude towards students, parents, and staff.

Professional Growth:

• Engage in continuous professional development activities.

• Participate in curriculum committees at the school or district level.

• Develop and execute an Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP).

• Participate in the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES).

Personal Characteristics:

• Maintain a high standard of professional conduct.

• Dress in a professional manner.

• Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the School Director and CEO.
