Responsibilities:

- Process, prepare, and dispense prescriptions through the pharmacy system.
- Adjudicate claims to third-party insurance plans.
- Accurately document and retain records for the filling of medication orders.
- Select the proper drug, dosage form, strength, and quantity.
- Monitor patient profiles and perform drug utilization reviews for medication appropriateness, duplicate therapy, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Provide timely and appropriate communication to patients, prescribers, pharmacists, nurses, and pharmacy support staff.
- Ensure proper customer service, patient/employee safety, and meet operational/schedule needs.
- Administer injectables/vaccines when applicable.
- Maintain appropriate security of the pharmacy while on duty.
- Manage the pharmacy in the absence of the pharmacy manager.
- Perform proficiency in all pharmacy computer systems, automated dispensing software, systems, and technical equipment required to perform duties.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of hospital personnel and perform basic office environment tasks.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and the Internet.

Job Description:

This is a travel pharmacist position in a central fill pharmacy. The pharmacist will be responsible for processing, preparing, and dispensing prescriptions through the pharmacy system. The pharmacist will also adjudicate claims to third-party insurance plans, accurately document and retain records for the filling of medication orders, and select the proper drug, dosage form, strength, and quantity.
