Job Title: Orthopedic Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Surgical Technologist to join our team at Childrens National Hospital. As a key member of our orthopedic department, you will provide specialized technical support to our division of Orthopedics.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply casts, splints, and braces on patients with proficiency.
  • Provide technical support to the division of Orthopedics in a clinic setting.
  • Work closely with our team to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  • Meet the requirements for lifting approximately 50 lbs and utilizing various office equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Requirements:
  • NBCOT (Ortho Tech) certification or Registered Orthopedic Tech certification.
  • 2+ years of recent orthopedics experience, mainly in casting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
Additional Requirements:
  • Government-Issued Photo ID.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support.
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure.
  • CHEMO - Chemotherapy.
  • Tech Cert Verification - National.
  • HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement.
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing.
  • State License 1 Verification.
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP).
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication).
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam.
  • Color Blind Testing Online.
  • Competency Exam.
  • Required facility-specific documents.
  • Health documents' requirements.
  • Background check and professional references required.
