Educational Requirements:
Candidates must possess an ABET accredited degree along with a doctoral degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Experience Requirements:
The department seeks individuals with a robust background in natural hazards, remote sensing, and the modeling and assessment of climate change impacts on geological materials. This includes expertise in fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and numerical studies, as well as the application of terrestrial and satellite remote sensing technologies for hazard assessment and enhancing infrastructure resilience against extreme events and geological hazards.
Licensure Requirements:
Faculty members involved in engineering design education are required to obtain licensure as Professional Engineers in Kentucky within four years of employment.
Position Overview:
The Civil Engineering Department is looking for candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level, focusing on Natural Hazards Engineering. A strong interdisciplinary foundation in geotechnical and geological engineering is highly desirable.
