Job Summary: Middletown Public Schools is seeking a Support Staff member to collaborate with teaching and administrative staff in classroom instruction, behavioral intervention, and clerical functions. This role will play a crucial part in assisting students achieve academic success.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with students who may require additional support in class.
  • Provide physical and instructional assistance to students in regular and special education classes.
  • Assist teachers in supervising students on field trips and preparing materials for instruction.
  • Maintain a safe and organized learning environment in the teacher's absence.
  • Operate audio-visual and technological equipment as needed.
  • Support the implementation of positive reinforcement procedures and reactive strategies identified in a behavior support plan.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.

Requirements:

  • An Associate Degree, two years of college (60 credits), or have taken and passed the ParaPro Assessment are acceptable qualifications.
  • Experience working with children who receive special education is preferred.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff is essential.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • We offer an estimated annual salary of $43,000 - $55,000 based on experience and qualifications.
