Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at Middlesex Health. As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our healthcare providers.

About the Role

The Clinical Support Specialist will be responsible for assisting with clinical duties, including greeting patients, obtaining medical information, measuring vital signs, and documenting patient information in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. You will also assist our Providers with exams and procedures, perform phlebotomy, collect blood specimens, and prepare treatment rooms for patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with clinical duties, including greeting patients, obtaining medical information, measuring vital signs, and documenting patient information in our EHR system.
  • Support our Providers with exams and procedures, as directed.
  • Perform phlebotomy, collect blood specimens, and label them appropriately for delivery to the lab.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patients, keeping them clean and stocked.
  • Manage patient messages, as delegated by licensed clinical staff or Providers.
  • Schedule patient appointments and prepare prescription refill documents for Provider review and signature.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Medical Assisting Certification.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medications.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • 1 year experience working with electronic health records.
  • 1 year office-based physician practice experience.
