Family Service Assistant

This role plays a crucial part in the operations of Youth Rehabilitation Services Community Services, closely supporting the assessment unit. The assessment unit is responsible for conducting initial risk/needs assessments and monitoring cases in administrative status. The Family Service Assistant plays a pivotal role in initiating new cases through the assessment process and providing necessary supervision for cases in administrative status until discharge.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule appointments for clients and transport them to required locations, providing coaching and assistance as needed.
- Provide office and telephone coverage in the absence of the case manager and refer problems to the appropriate party.
- Visit clients in various environments, observing behavior and reporting to the case manager.
- Prepare and maintain records and forms required by the case manager to provide necessary services to clients.
- Monitor behavior during parental visits and ensure safe interaction.
- May interview clients to obtain basic information, such as dates of birth or social security numbers of family members.
- Six months of experience in record keeping.
- Six months of experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve, and report on data.
- Six months of experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of health or human services support, including interviewing clients and assessing personal, health, social, or financial needs in accordance with program requirements or coordinating with community resources to obtain client services.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
The hours for this position are 29.50 weekly, with a schedule of Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-2:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am-2:00 pm. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and undergo pre-employment drug testing and a satisfactory criminal background check.
