Pediatric Therapy Specialist

As an Occupational Therapist at CommonSpirit Health, you will play a vital role in assisting our young patients in reclaiming their independence and enhancing their quality of life, enabling them to engage in daily activities safely.
You will work with a diverse patient population ranging from infancy to approximately 15 years old, addressing various challenges such as developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, neurological issues, sensory processing disorders, and orthopedic conditions. We seek a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to help develop, recover, or sustain the daily living skills of children facing physical, mental, or developmental challenges.
To excel in this position, you must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability. You will care for a wide range of patient populations presenting with different conditions. Strong organizational skills and efficiency are essential, as you will manage multiple patients each day and meticulously document all evaluations, treatments, and progress updates. Most importantly, a positive, personable, and motivating demeanor is crucial, as your encouragement can significantly impact the journey of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other professionals to assess new patients and propose a comprehensive care plan.
- Administer treatments aimed at enhancing range of motion, strength, and balance during daily activities.
- Recommend and customize adaptive equipment as necessary.
- Conduct re-evaluations to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all evaluations, treatments, and modifications to the care plan.
- Provide support to colleagues and seek assistance when needed, including mentoring and guidance on specialty certifications.
- Uphold a friendly and encouraging attitude to inspire patients to achieve their best.
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in pediatric therapy
- Licensed in the State of Texas as an Occupational Therapist
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association; Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
