Job Details

We are seeking a skilled Truck and Bus Mechanic to join our team at Greater Portland Transit Metro.

This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $31.80 - $38.96 per hour, plus benefits including a $1,000 Sign-On Bonus and $1000 Annual tool/work boot reimbursement.

As a Truck and Bus Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing highly skilled repairs and maintenance of diesel-driven automotive equipment, including:

  • Performs complex diagnostic procedures on all vehicle systems.
  • Reconditions and replaces parts, such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings.
  • Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively.

The minimum requirements for this position include:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtaining a CDL-B with Air Brakes & Passenger Endorsement within 6 months of employment.
  • Obtaining a Maine State Inspection License within 6 months of employment.
  • Knowledge of parts and processes, and computer skills.
