Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain, operate, test, inspect, perform preventative maintenance, and repair all types of computers, peripherals, servers, and other networking equipment.
  2. Compile and execute custom device drivers and/or modify existing drivers from source using hardware-specific APIs.
  3. Provide technical support for the R&D engineering group, including setup, debugging, and troubleshooting new devices/servers and processes.
  4. Assist in preparing, developing, and implementing documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, technical reports, change requests, and formal test protocols and reports.
  5. Generate purchase orders, coordinate orders and deliveries with vendors, inventory management, shipping and receiving computer equipment, preparing commercial invoices, and liaising with internal Customs specialists.
  6. Maintain equipment records and daily work logs.

Requirements:

  1. Associate degree or higher in a technical field is preferred.
  2. 3 to 5 years of technician experience in a computer/electronics field.
  3. Understanding of configuration management systems and large-scale software development.
  4. Experience with Linux-based operating systems and virtualization technologies.
  5. Proficiency in programming and scripting languages.
  6. Knowledge of networking and strong attention to detail.
  7. Previous experience in an R&D and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities in a continuously changing environment.
