Position Overview:

The Audio Visual Specialist will become an integral part of a dynamic IT team dedicated to enhancing the operational capabilities of Graton Resort & Casino. This role is pivotal in the planning and supervision of all Audio Visual (A/V) and Low Voltage systems installations, aimed at delivering an exceptional experience for guests. The specialist will contribute to the development and execution of standard operating procedures, alongside documenting preventive maintenance strategies for installed A/V and Low Voltage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion the redefinition of hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while embodying and promoting our core values.
  • Collaborate with external partners to ascertain equipment requirements for live events. Supervise the setup and operation of A/V equipment for events, including microphones, speakers, audio mixers, and lighting systems.
  • Utilize industry standards and best practices to design and scope A/V and Low Voltage systems that align with property and user needs. Oversee the installation and validation of A/V and Low Voltage equipment such as 70V speaker systems, Digital Signal Processors, video walls, signage displays, video distribution systems, low voltage cabling, and distributed antenna systems.
  • Assist in formulating and documenting best practices and standard operating procedures for the operation and maintenance of A/V and Low Voltage equipment.
  • Identify and propose solutions for potential issues related to A/V system performance, support, and reliability.
  • Supervise the installation and maintenance of low voltage cabling, including fiber optic, communications, twisted pair, and coaxial cabling.
  • Contribute to the establishment and management of preventive maintenance protocols for A/V and Low Voltage systems. Maintain maintenance logs to ensure equipment is serviced appropriately for optimal performance.
  • Monitor, operate, and repair various lighting dimming systems, including Electronic Theater Control and Crestron Dimming.
  • Provide low-level programming support for A/V control systems, audio DSP controls, and lighting controls.
  • Respond to incoming inquiries regarding A/V software and hardware issues.
  • Manage inventory of A/V and Low Voltage equipment, ensuring essential items for repairs and installations are readily available.
  • Document modifications made to A/V and Low Voltage systems and update schematics to reflect any changes.
  • Familiarize oneself with OSHA safety regulations concerning Audio Visual and Low Voltage infrastructures.
  • Availability for all shifts and hours to support live entertainment events.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal formats.
  • Extensive experience with Audio Visual and Low Voltage technologies, with a commitment to meeting the demands of a successful Hotel/Casino operation.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of commercial Audio-Visual experience, with at least two (2) certifications in Audio-Visual programming and repairs. CTS and Crestron certifications are advantageous.
  • A genuine passion for the Audio Visual and Low Voltage field, with a willingness to learn new technologies in a rapidly evolving industry.
  • Experience with Low Voltage infrastructure, tools, and related testing equipment, along with familiarity with common practices for running or extending Low Voltage infrastructure. FOA and Fusion Slicer certifications are a plus.
  • Proficient in AV systems installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting/maintenance.
  • Familiarity with A/V control systems such as Crestron, Extron, and AMX.
  • Knowledge and direct experience with Audio DSP units, with familiarity with Audio Architect being a plus.
  • Strong understanding of signal flow in both audio and video installations.
  • Experience with digital multi-meters, toning, and testing cables.
  • Proficient in installing and maintaining projectors, with a solid understanding of throw distances.
  • A background in commercial electronics, electrical systems, and a strong understanding of IP/networking is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience in maintaining the following:
  • Television Displays, Live and Installed Sound and Music Systems, IP Based Video Systems, Category Cable Repair and Termination, Visual Systems Fiber Repair and Termination.
