Aspirus Health is offering a unique internship program for students currently enrolled in their 2nd semester of the Medical Assistant program. This paid opportunity is designed to provide hands-on experience in a clinical setting, allowing students to gain valuable skills and knowledge in patient care.
Program Details- This 10-week internship will take place during the Fall of 2024, from August 12th to October 18th.
- Students will work 64 hours bi-weekly for the first 2 weeks and then occasionally (0.08 hours bi-weekly) for the following 8 weeks.
As a Medical Assistant Intern, you will be responsible for:
- Administering and documenting ordered medications and injections.
- Communicating with patients via telephone calls and advising them on instructions from providers.
- Performing audiograms and visual testing.
- Reviewing appointment schedules and maintaining a timely flow of patients.
To be eligible for this internship, you must:
- Have completed the first semester of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Pass a Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check.
- Undergo a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
