Lexington, Massachusetts, United States Software Galaxy Systems, LLC Full time
Position Overview:

The Tactical Networks Group is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge network and communication systems, particularly focusing on tactical mobile and military airborne networks.

Utilizing a blend of technical analysis, modeling, simulation, emulation, prototype development, and flight evaluation, our team innovates new communication systems while assessing their performance under various conditions.

Role Summary:

This role is designated for a field test software engineer responsible for the integration and operation of mission test infrastructure systems during demonstration events.

The engineer will also be tasked with integrating and maintaining both hardware and software systems, automating the collection and dissemination of experimental data, and integrating hardware-based avionics systems.

This position emphasizes software integration and test integration rather than core programming tasks. While some coding will be involved, it will primarily focus on integrating systems, extracting data for reporting, and developing visual dashboards for data representation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain field test infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on avionics systems.
  • Develop software automation techniques for real-time and post-experiment data capture, dissemination, and visualization.
  • Ensure the security posture of field systems is maintained.
  • Utilize 8+ years of software programming experience, with proficiency in languages such as C/C++ and JavaScript.
  • Work with additional programming/scripting languages including JAVA, Golang, PERL, TCL/TK, KML, GeoJSON, HTML5, Google Earth, and Cesium/CZML.
  • Leverage 8+ years of experience with data collection and analysis software, preferably Grafana and InfluxDB.
  • Integrate software systems adhering to military and avionics standards such as Link 16, TTNT, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, and DoD SATCOM.
  • Combine commercial SATCOM systems with military and avionics networks.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with PQube power monitoring system data collection and analysis.
  • Software development skills for tracking moving objects on mapping applications like Google Earth.
  • Familiarity with ASTI-Internal Communications Systems, ARINC distribution systems, and GPS devices.
  • Knowledge of LN100, LTN-92, MIL-STD-1553, and ARINC-429 protocols.
  • Experience with RTX ARINC-429 Analyzer.
  • Understanding of ISSO Duties with COMSEC Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a Class III FAA medical certificate.

Additional Information:

This position requires 100% onsite presence at the Lab. Candidates should be prepared to be local to the area at the start of the assignment and must be able to work fully onsite. An interim clearance is sufficient for commencement.
