Utility District Operations Manager

Under general supervision, the Utility District Assistant Director assists the Executive Director in managing personnel and activities for the Utility District. This role is responsible for overseeing the effective operation of the divisions, including water and wastewater treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection, storm water management, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical aid to subordinates and conduct investigations and analyses of procedures related to the effective operation of the divisions.
- Relieve the department director of day-to-day technical and supervisory detail work, including project management, contracts, construction, design, inspections, and capital improvement projects.
- Work with the Executive Director to develop and implement policies and procedures for the Utility District.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering, chemistry, or related field.
- At least six years of progressively responsible experience in the operation of a public utilities system, preferably in a municipal government.
- Two years of management or supervisory utility administrative operations experience.
- A valid Florida driver's license.
- State of Florida Professional Engineer is highly desirable.
