Job Overview

Dayton T. Brown, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to support our Technical Publications Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance programs to ensure our products meet or exceed customer and company expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and present plans to upper management for significant improvements to our existing Quality Management System (QMS), identifying areas for improvement, efficiency gains, and industry standard adherence.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate quality risk on all programs, communicating with stakeholders, analyzing metrics, and driving continuous improvement to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality standards, proper specifications, customer requirements, and statements of work while ensuring processes are properly documented and maintained.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to implement process improvements and drive continuous quality enhancement.
  • Build and present monthly quality metrics reports to program managers across the division as well as upper management, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and action plans.
  • Attend regular internal meetings with staff and external meetings with customers to address quality inquiries, concerns, and requirements.
  • Initiate and attend internal kickoff meetings to review scope of project, workflow, deliverable requirements, and schedule to ensure quality processes are established to achieve project success.
  • Manage the documentation and record-keeping of quality-related processes, including SOPs, work instructions, and quality records.
  • Responsible for performing QA reviews on programs as workload and staffing dictate.
  • Provide quality training and quality system overviews to new hires. Document training records accordingly.
  • Participate in hiring additional QA representatives when required.
  • Represent the Tech Services Division and support the corporate quality manager during ISO/AS9100 audits; note the extent to which quality objectives are met, document, and remediate any nonconformities immediately.
  • Must monitor and enhance quality metrics, key performance indicators, and benchmark tracking across all programs to improve overall division quality.
  • Experienced with Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools that use statistical techniques to control a process and monitor behavior, discover issues, and find solutions.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience managing quality programs and a 4-year college degree required.
  • Experience managing a quality group with direct reports in technical publications-related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies and relevant industry standards.
  • Ability to develop materials and properly train staff on quality control processes and procedures.
  • Must be able to foster a culture of quality and accountability throughout our organization.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have experience interviewing and evaluating potential new hire candidates.
  • Must be available to work overtime to meet program demands.
  • This is a remote position with occasional travel required to meet with project teams and/or customers.
  • Technical publications and/or aircraft maintenance background required.
  • ASQ Certification preferred.
  • Six Sigma Certification preferred.
