We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Software Security Evaluation Specialist to become part of our team. This role involves collaborating with a group that offers software development assistance for an entity responsible for distributing data to various stakeholders within the Intelligence Community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team to assess source code utilizing automated Software Assurance (SwA) tools.
  • Contribute to the formulation of testing methodologies, develop testing metrics, and create test scenarios that support SwA tool evaluations.
  • Assist in the evaluation of client software and engage with clients to recommend necessary remediation actions.
  • Generate comprehensive reports and documentation.
  • Utilize and optimize source code analysis tools, assessing their strengths and weaknesses to determine their appropriateness for specific software or client environments.
  • Design and validate processes for source code SwA analysis.
  • Interpret, prioritize, and leverage results from source code SwA tools to address potential software vulnerabilities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in programming with Python or other scripting languages.
  • Conduct statistical analyses and report findings on various factors within a SwA context.
  • Exhibit strong written communication skills, particularly in the preparation of technical reports.
  • Research industry trends to identify new source code SwA tools and methodologies.
  • Provide professional training and demonstrate experience in creating or delivering technical presentations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in software engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering with 12 years of experience in systems security engineering and software vulnerability assessment, or 8 years with a Master's Degree in the same fields.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in utilizing and optimizing source code analysis tools, assessing their strengths and weaknesses.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in designing and validating SwA analysis processes.
  • Three (3) years of experience in interpreting, prioritizing, and utilizing results from source code SwA tools to mitigate potential software vulnerabilities.
  • Three (3) years of experience in programming with Python or another scripting language.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in preparing and delivering briefings and written reports on software assurance topics.
  • Two (2) years of experience in conducting statistical analyses.
  • At least five (5) years of programming experience in Java, C, C++, or C#.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with some or all of the following technologies:

  • CodeSonar
  • Security Fortify
  • IDA Pro
  • MATLAB

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
