Job Overview

The Project Manager at SHL Medical is responsible for the successful implementation of specific projects within the company. This role involves working closely with team members to ensure project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are always on track. Key responsibilities include planning, budgeting, resource allocation, project risk management, and project team leadership.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the design and development of complex mechanical medical devices and equipment.
  • Maintain project oversight over all disciplines, ensuring individual discipline leaders are aware of customer objectives and their responsibilities to the specific project.
  • Understand Voice of the Customer and User Needs.
  • Interact with customers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional team leads from project initiation through the entire design and development process.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and major milestones in alignment with sponsor and internal program and product managers.
  • Forecast resources needed to reach objectives, assemble a Project Team with the appropriate range of skills and experience, and ensure all members have the prerequisites to optimally perform their tasks.
  • Prepare a budget based on the scope of work and resource requirements and track project costs to meet the budget.
  • Work with the Project Team to develop a detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of the project.
  • Monitor project performance to identify areas for improvement and make adjustments as needed.
  • Perform project risk management to minimize project risks and escalate identified risks at an early stage.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs and ensure all parties are informed of the impacts of planned changes.
  • Organize and lead regular project team meetings to exchange on the current project status, discuss current issues and possible solutions, and agree on further actions.
  • Provide project updates regularly to various stakeholders about deliverables, required adjustments, and overall progress.
Requirements
  • 5 years' experience in project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes, including injection molding of plastics, machining methods, rapid prototyping techniques, etc.
  • Understanding of Human Centered Industrial Design & Usability research activities and their interface with engineering.
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering development processes, utilizing 3D CAD.
  • PMP Certification is a plus.
  • Profound knowledge of project management processes, methodologies, and tools & techniques and ability to adapt them to the organization.
  • Advanced time and risk management skills.
  • Ability to encourage and enable people to work together as a team to reach common goals.
  • Ability to influence decisions that need to be made to make the project successful.
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
