Job Overview :
This position plays a vital role in the healthcare delivery framework, ensuring a supportive atmosphere by prioritizing patient needs. The incumbent delivers specialized medical services for both acute and chronic health issues within targeted demographics, adhering to the relevant scope and standards of practice, as well as the organization's policies, values, and mission. This role may be required to operate in settings that necessitate round-the-clock coverage, specialty certifications, advanced procedures with necessary privileges, and may involve off-hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.
Shifts will include rotation through days/nights, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough and precise patient histories, review medical records, and perform comprehensive physical assessments. (25%)
- Request laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic tests suitable for the patient's complaint, age, gender, and physical condition. Analyze and interpret patient data to formulate treatment plans. (5%)
- Establish medical diagnoses and initiate appropriate therapeutic interventions within the defined scope and standards of practice. (5%)
- Ensure accurate documentation to support medical coding and billing processes. (5%)
- Provide guidance and information regarding medical care to patients and their families. (5%)
- Document and communicate relevant information in the electronic medical record (EMR) and to the attending physician. (5%)
- Perform hospital rounds and accurately document patient progress notes; transcribe and implement specific orders as directed by the attending physician. (5%)
- Implement emergency protocols and stabilization measures in critical situations such as cardiac arrest, hemorrhage, or shock. (5%)
- Promptly inform the attending physician of any significant changes in the patient's condition. (5%)
- Engage in ongoing professional education to maintain licensure. (5%)
- Actively participate in the education of medical students and professional staff, leveraging expertise. (5%)
- Contribute to patient safety, quality improvement initiatives, and patient satisfaction efforts. (5%)
- Ensure compliance with medical staff office requirements. (5%)
- Maintain professional practice in alignment with the organization's mission statements. (5%)
- Perform specialty-specific procedures and adhere to expectations outlined in the privileging and job agreement. (10%)
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited program and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, or graduation from a PA State Board of Nursing Approved Master's or Post Master's program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active Pennsylvania Physician Assistant License OR Current Pennsylvania CRNP license along with a valid Pennsylvania RN license.
- CRNPs must secure Pennsylvania Prescriptive Authority license within 60 days of employment.
- National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in specialty practice.
- 1-3 years of clinical experience.
- ACLS certification.
- Specialty certification as recognized by national organizations.
- DEA license.
