Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider

Job Summary:

Highmark Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our team. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will be an integral part of the care delivery system, working together with our healthcare team to provide a healing environment for our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complete and accurate histories, review patient records, and perform complete physical examinations.
  • Order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies appropriate for the patient's complaint, age, race, gender, and physical condition.
  • Make medical diagnoses and institute appropriate therapy within applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Provide instructions and guidance regarding medical care matters to patients and/or family members.
  • Record and report pertinent information in the electronic medical record and to the attending physician of record.
  • Perform hospital rounds and document patient progress notes.
  • Institute emergency measures and emergency treatment or stabilization measures in acute patient situations.
  • Identify and inform the attending physician of record of all significant changes to the patient's ongoing condition.
  • Maintain mandatory professional continuing education.
  • Participate in medical education to student learners and professional staff.
  • Participate in patient safety, quality improvement processes, and patient engagement and satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with the medical staff office.
  • Maintain professional practice consistent with the organizational and advanced practice mission statements.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited program or a Pennsylvania Board of Nursing Approved Master's or Post Master's program.
  • Current Pennsylvania Physician Assistant License or Current Pennsylvania CRNP license and current Pennsylvania RN license.
  • CRNPs must obtain Pennsylvania Prescriptive Authority license within 60 days of hire.
  • National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • CPR - American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years department-specific experience.
  • ACLS certification.
  • DEA license.
