Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized clinical services for patients facing cognitive memory challenges, including the assessment, treatment, and management of neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and various forms of dementia.
- Conduct thorough neurological assessments, encompassing detailed history-taking, physical examinations, and the interpretation of diagnostic evaluations to establish precise diagnoses and formulate evidence-based treatment strategies.
- Engage in collaborative care with fellow specialists, including neuropsychologists and psychiatrists, to ensure a comprehensive approach to managing cognitive disorders.
- Educate patients and their families about disease management, lifestyle adjustments, and care planning, fostering involvement in the decision-making process.
- Participate in departmental meetings and interdisciplinary discussions to share knowledge and enhance the collective expertise of the neurology team.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and adhere to all regulatory and institutional standards.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency program in Neurology.
- Fellowship training in dementia or cognitive neurology, or a strong commitment to cognitive memory issues.
- Board certification or eligibility in Neurology.
- Possession of a valid medical license in Texas.
- Exceptional clinical skills, including proficiency in history-taking and diagnostic test interpretation.
- Strong interpersonal communication abilities to effectively engage with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Dedication to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
