PDS Tech Commercial, Inc. is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Mechanical Field Engineer.
Position Overview:
The selected candidate will serve as a Project Mechanical Field Engineer focusing on a significant modernization initiative. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams to deliver technical insights during design evaluations, conducting quality assurance inspections, overseeing contractor activities, and ensuring adherence to project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and provide feedback on technical documents, including drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Assess and respond to Request for Information (RFIs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to clarify and document any design modifications.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections for mechanical systems.
- Monitor contractor operations to verify alignment with project plans and specifications.
- Act as the on-site inspector for construction activities performed by contractors and subcontractors.
- Engage with site supervision to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Generate daily inspection reports and coordinate compliance with code and commissioning requirements.
- Assist in resolving technical challenges encountered on-site and communicate issues to the engineering team.
- Maintain accurate record drawings and documentation.
- Support engineering efforts in quality assurance, commissioning, and defining completion criteria for systems and subsystems.
- Facilitate system turnovers by leading inspections and compiling punch lists.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of field experience, with an average of 15+ years preferred.
- 5 years of experience in engineering for LNG, Power, or Oil and Gas facilities is advantageous.
- 1-2 years of experience with EPC contracts is preferred.
- Experience in planning and coordinating plant shutdown activities is a plus.
- Experience in a multidisciplinary engineering or operational role is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong time management skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
