Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Loan Processor to join our team at FreeStar Financial Credit Union. As a Loan Processor, you will play a critical role in maintaining loan compliance and ensuring the accuracy of loan documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and verify supporting documentation for approved consumer loan applications
  • Create loan documents and schedule member closings for both DocuSign and branch
  • Communicate directly with loan officers to obtain lending decisions and follow up with members and affiliates to relay loan decisions
  • Maintain a high level of communication between the loan originator, member, and closer both verbally and in writing
  • Answer incoming phone calls from members and team members to answer questions and perform account maintenance on Visa and loan accounts
  • Back up processor for incoming loan applications via phone or internet
  • Process all insurance products by completing quotes, creating documentation, issuing policies, and processing claims, refunds, and payments
  • Reverse loan payments and perform financial transactions as needed
  • Process adverse action notices and subsequent action forms as needed
  • Review Loan Exceptions and execute necessary corrections to maintain the loan file
  • Assist in creating and revising procedures as assigned
  • Field questions and service member VISA Accounts
  • Review VISA reporting for lost/stolen/reissued cards
  • Audit VISA Files
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of six months of similar or related experience in the financial industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of various federal regulations and the responsibilities relating to each act of the following: Right to Financial Privacy Act, Regulation E (EFTS), Regulation CC (Funds Availability), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending), Truth in Savings Act, and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
