New York, New York, United States Reflex Robotics Full time
Company Overview

Reflex Robotics is a pioneering company that aims to revolutionize the manufacturing and logistics industries by developing affordable humanoid robots. Our goal is to automate dangerous and repetitive tasks, freeing humans to focus on more fulfilling work.

We are a two-year-old startup backed by Khosla Ventures, with a projected revenue of $60 million in 2024. Our robots are designed and built in-house by an experienced engineering team that has worked on high-profile projects such as the Stretch robot at Boston Dynamics and the Model S, X, and Y production line at Tesla.

Our robots are high-performance, low-inertia, and designed for low-cost manufacturing. We have also developed a tele-operation system that allows remote operators to control the robots in real-time, enabling a wide range of tasks to be performed on day one, with increasing autonomy over time.

Key Company Beliefs

We believe that high-quality proprietary data is the key to building generational AI companies. Unlike Tesla's FSD, which has over 1 billion miles of driver data, and ChatGPT, which has access to the entire internet, we recognize the need for a good dataset in robotics.

We prioritize actual usefulness to customers over overly academic pursuits. Our focus is on developing robots that can make a real difference in people's lives, rather than striving for perfection in areas that may not be as critical.

We also believe that human prosperity increases super-linearly with increased automation, allowing people to focus on more rewarding pursuits. An insane work ethic is necessary for outsized success, and we encourage our team members to strive for excellence in their work.

Job Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in firmware development, with experience in shipping firmware running on 500+ devices. They will also have a good understanding of basic protocols, time-sync between devices, and signal processing.

The successful candidate will be able to write robust code that others can trust for years, and will have a passion for understanding the entire system they are working with. Bonus experience in power electronics, FPGA development, camera sensors, and kernel wizardry is a plus.

We primarily use C/C++ and Python for prototyping, and do not use ROS. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a collaborative environment, and will be excited about the opportunity to contribute to the development of our robots.
