Sterile Processing Technician Advanced-Central Sterilization Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician Advanced-Central Sterilization Specialist to join our team at Dartmouth Health. This role is responsible for the primary decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of all surgical instrumentation and supplies.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and prioritize instrumentation to ensure surgical sets are clean, sterile, and complete.
- Conduct quality control checks on instrumentation for function, defects, breakage, and overall general condition.
- Assemble kits, sets, and packages per content/count sheet.
- Communicate with Team Leaders and CSR Leaders regarding instrumentation discrepancies.
- Expand knowledge of specialty instrumentation and services, becoming proficient in General Surgery instruments and three additional Pod areas.
- Report equipment malfunctions to Supervisors, Team Leaders, or Lead Technicians.
- Operate all sterilizers, perform tests, and maintain sterilization records.
- Assemble case carts for surgical procedures.
- Act as a preceptor for other employees, assist in educating, and serve as a resource.
- Assist in rotating stock, folding towels, restocking supplies, distributing supplies, and wrapping basins.
- Unload instrument and cart washers, dry, and put away items.
- Support the team in operating all washers and assist with restocking supplies, clearing Decontam windows, unloading elevators, replenishing racks, and breaking down case carts.
- Replenish trash carts to the OR.
- Clean and disinfect equipment from the floors, endoscopes, and surgical instrumentation.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Prior CSR experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must engage in self-study to obtain a certification in a Central Service Technician program and obtain a CBSPD certification or equivalent.
- Must maintain certification.
