General Overview: The role involves conducting manual and visual inspections, as well as dimensional assessments of molded components to guarantee quality standards and adherence to client specifications. This position requires repetitive evaluation of production items and performing minor repairs on identified issues. The individual may also operate automated inspection machinery as needed. The inspector should be proficient in all inspection tasks and be adaptable to work in various departments as required, performing consistently without supervision.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to approved procedures and client guidelines to execute all forms of visual inspections, identifying and segregating defective items.
  • Exhibit willingness to assist in other departments, mentor colleagues, and handle complex components as necessary.
  • As trained, manage part check-ins, engage in bakery tasks, or participate in quality control as assigned.
  • Comply with current departmental protocols regarding task allocation.
  • Follow established ISO standards.
  • Accurately document and relay information using the ERP system (APPX).
  • Monitor work-in-progress and interpret product status.
  • Implement proper line clearance procedures to ensure part segregation.
  • Utilize picks to load components onto rods.
  • Buff various components using a cloth buffing wheel.
  • Employ scales for measuring and counting products.
  • Conduct Flash Checks as required.
  • Consistently achieve productivity targets while maintaining high product quality.
  • Utilize bin tag information to comprehend and follow special instructions and routing processes.
  • Perform tasks requiring a high degree of precision and close tolerance inspection.
  • Effectively communicate with leads, supervisors, and colleagues across departments to efficiently complete tasks or share information.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and urgency in task execution.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for ongoing improvement.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Work overtime as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • May involve programming, setting up, operating, and monitoring automated inspection equipment.
  • May require setup and operation of laser etching and plasma coating machines.
  • May include operating DOSS ET4 and Keyence inspection machines.
  • May necessitate looking up and interpreting dimensional data in APPX.
  • Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Keep the workspace organized by adhering to the 5-S Program.
  • Rod and pluck molded components for extended periods as needed.
  • Ensure proper segregation of rod stock as required.
  • Learn additional processes in other departments as necessary.
  • Provide assistance in other departments with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or leads.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English instructions.
  • Capability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to learn inspection techniques and operational procedures.
  • Possess neat and legible handwriting.
  • Ability to utilize scales and other measuring instruments.
  • Fully proficient in inspecting all products within the Inspection Department.
  • Consistently build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Reliable with minimal unplanned absences.
  • Responsible and dependable, utilizing time effectively.
  • Focused and capable of working independently at a steady pace.
  • Able and willing to work responsibly in other areas without supervision.
Physical Requirements:
  • Good vision (with or without corrective lenses).
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Fine motor skills and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
