The estimated hourly rate for this position is $20-$30, depending on the successful candidate's work location and qualifications, including relevant education, work experience, skills, and competencies.

Job Description
In this role as a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will provide vital support in dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Your duties will include setting up, testing, and operating hemodialysis machines, obtaining and documenting pre- and post-treatment vital signs, evaluating vascular access, and monitoring patients' responses to dialysis therapy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, test, and operate hemodialysis machines.
  • Obtain and document necessary pre- and post-treatment vital signs.
  • Evaluate vascular access and perform cannulation.
  • Monitor patients' responses to dialysis therapy.
  • Evaluate patient conditions and report significant information to supervisors.
  • Enter treatment data into designated clinical applications.
  • Collect, label, prepare, and store lab samples according to laboratory specifications.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment and surrounding areas.

Requirements
This role requires a high school diploma or GED and previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility (preferably). Essential qualities include dependability, compassion, caring, supportive, collaborative, and reliable traits. You must also be able to lift and move patients, exerting up to 15 pounds of force, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. A successful completion of the Fresenius Medical Care dialysis training program and CPR certification are required for continued employment.
