Position: Assistant Public Defender I, II, III, or IV at GeorgiaGov

The GeorgiaGov Public Defender's Office is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Assistant Public Defender I, II, III, or IV. This position entails providing legal representation to clients who cannot afford an attorney in Superior Courts.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia
  • Criminal law experience is preferred
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and advocate in court

Key Responsibilities:

The Assistant Public Defender I, II, III, or IV will deliver skilled legal representation and advocacy for clients in need. Responsibilities include managing a diverse range of cases, from straightforward matters to complex felony trials. Additional tasks may be assigned as required.

Requirements: Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution, valid Georgia law practice license or eligibility to take the Georgia Bar exam, and a minimum of three years of pertinent legal experience.
