About the Opportunity

This is an exceptional chance for a skilled Senior Accountant to join a reputable organization in the Anaheim region. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and management of payroll reporting, WIP, and day-to-day accounting functions, including AP/AR, process improvement, financial reporting, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including financial reporting and biweekly payroll processing.
  • Oversee all general ledger accounting activity and lead the revenue recognition process in accordance with the percentage of completion method, including WIP reconciliation.
  • Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and year-end audit work papers in partnership with an external CPA firm.
  • Provide audit support for various insurance project owners, partners, state, and local agencies as needed.
  • Perform daily AP tasks, including interaction and communication with vendors.
  • Coding and inputting invoices into the accounting system.
  • Produce accurate cash flow reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested by upper management.
  • Budget maintenance and variance reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements and a solid understanding of the month-end close process and related reconciliations to subsidiary records.
  • Prior exposure to the construction industry and percentage of completion accounting.
  • Experience in construction industry-specific ERP systems.
  • Extremely detailed with a high standard for quality and accuracy.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
