Job Summary

Covenant Health is seeking a skilled LPN II-clinic to provide professional clinical care to patients in an outpatient setting. As a member of our team, you will work under the supervision of the attending provider and practice office manager to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
  • Assist provider with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments, including phlebotomy, injections, and suturing.
  • Administer patient medications per provider order and policy, including appropriate dosage, route, site, and documentation.
  • Orient, instruct, and train assigned personnel as applicable.
  • Provide basic patient care as ordered.
  • Assure test results are received and relayed to patient in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy by using the AIDET fundamentals of communication.
  • Document all interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials and communicating provider's advice and instructions.
  • Triage patient phone calls and urgency of appointments.
  • Ensure an adequate stock of supplies and well-maintained equipment.
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy of recording on patient medical records.
Qualifications

Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience: One (1) year of experience required as an LPN or as a certified Medical Assistant from a recognized certifying organization.

Licensure Requirement: Must be licensed as an LPN in the state of Tennessee or be certified as a Medical Assistant from a recognized certifying organization. American Heart Association BLS required.
