Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the YMCA of Central Kentucky. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to young children in our preschool program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that promote the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth of children.
  • Classroom Management: Create a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environment that fosters positive relationships among children, staff, and families.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve program goals and objectives, and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with young children in a professional setting.
  • Certifications: Commonwealth Child Care Credential or CDA required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment; strong organizational and time management skills.
Working Conditions

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and frequent body traffic in work areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
