Nuclear Instrumentation Specialist

At DTE Energy, we are seeking a skilled Nuclear Instrumentation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Instrumentation and Control group, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of instrumentation and control systems and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, modify, replace, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, test, and repair various instrumentation including analog/digital NIs, process radiation monitors, signal conditioners, display and trip devices, data recorders, pH meters, conductivity cells, thermocouples, RTDs, potentiometers, fiber optic systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, Air Operated Valves, digital programmable logic control systems, digital programmable logic control systems (PLCs), and digital Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Maintain solid-state electronic equipment such as transmitters, controllers, receivers, dynamic compensators, and digital counters.
- Maintain site security equipment such as explosive detectors, x-ray machines, metal detectors, microwave intrusion detectors, computer multiplexers, card readers, etc.
- Use a variety of equipment including oscilloscopes, manometers, DMMs, ammeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, recorders/plotters, Time Domain Reflectometers, digital calibrators, loop tuning systems, lanyard pots, vibration indicators, signal generators, and resistance bridges.
- Use tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, flaring tools, grinders, micrometers, calipers, soldering iron, etc.
Requirements:
- Must have completed a company recognized apprenticeship in the trade of I&C or have at least four and one-half years industrial instrument repair experience including two years of electronic control systems component repair experience.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must conform with ANSI standard AAN-18,1-1971, Selection and Training of Nuclear Power Plant Personnel.
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in their specialty.
- Should have 1 year of related technical training in addition to experience.
- Must take the Power Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS) test and attain a Recommended score.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to complete all required initial training (Orientation & Duty Area) within 3 years of hire date.
- Security screening and drug testing is required for access.
- Must have a valid driver's license and meet Company driving standards.
- Must meet regulatory requirements per Fermi procedures.
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts and weekends as assigned.
