Job Summary

At Rutland Regional Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiac Echo Sonographer to join our team. As a Cardiac Echo Sonographer, you will play a critical role in utilizing high-frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques to aid in medical diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of a physician, you will operate ultrasound equipment to produce and evaluate images and related data used for medical diagnosis.
  • You will acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to provide quality patient care, including the injection of contrast media when necessary and the implementation of life-saving measures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited educational program for Diagnostic Sonography or equivalent.
  • Prior experience is preferred, but not required.
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
  • Registry preferred, or Registry eligible within 1 year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated safe and knowledgeable practice skills at all times, based on theory and consistent with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare and administer IV contrast.
  • Able to recognize abnormal structures and correlate this information into a useful study.
  • Ability to deviate from normal techniques when necessary and develop new techniques.
  • Ability to utilize ancillary devices, such as selected transducers.
  • Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.
