Maintenance Supervisor

At National Beef, we are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Tama, Iowa. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production and packaging facility.

• Coordinate and supervise the work of maintenance mechanics to ensure timely completion of tasks and minimize equipment downtime.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and reduce maintenance costs.
• Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to company standards and specifications.
• Enforce safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and housekeeping practices to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Balance quality, productivity, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
• Provide coaching and development opportunities to assigned staff, and make employment decisions as needed.
• Oversee training and cross-training of assigned staff, and appraise performance to identify areas for improvement.
• Accountable for ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and regulations, and perform accident investigations as needed.
• Verify labor hours and payroll report accuracy.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience, with knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, industrial electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of preventative maintenance techniques and scheduling.
• Working knowledge of GMPs and efficient and safe manufacturing operations.
• Experience working with a diverse group of people and ability to maintain high expectations for self and others.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization.
• Solid problem-solving, project management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, reliable, and resourceful.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
