We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Development Engineer to join our team at CMTA Inc in Fairfax, VA. This role is part of our Energy Solutions division, which is one of the fastest growing divisions within our company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for introducing and explaining performance contracting to potential clients, articulating how and why CMTA is unique in our approach, and leading the development phase including site visits, audits, energy calculations, etc.

This position involves directing the engineering design team producing drawings and specifications, direct the bidding process, develop the final contract with the client, work with construction manager to ensure smooth construction period for the client, direct the commissioning process, be involved during warranty phase as required, and work with our M&V professional to develop the first year M&V report.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm in the federal market, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance Contracting: Introduce and explain performance contracting to potential clients
  • Develop Phase: Lead the development phase including site visits, audits, energy calculations, etc.
  • Engineering Design: Direct the engineering design team producing drawings and specifications
  • Bidding Process: Direct the bidding process
  • Contract Development: Develop the final contract with the client
  • Construction Management: Work with construction manager to ensure smooth construction period for the client
  • Commissioning: Direct the commissioning process
  • Maintenance: Be involved during warranty phase as required
  • M&V Reporting: Work with our M&V professional to develop the first year M&V report

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm in the federal market
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
  • Familiarity with DOE and/or Army Corps of Engineers IDIQ contract requirements
  • Meeting cyber security requirements by DOD and other federal agencies
  • Knowledge and understanding of Unified Facility Guide criteria (UFGC) and Specifications (UFGS) for DoD
  • Experience with building simulation and bin spreadsheet modeling of ECMs and calibrating analysis to the utility baseline
  • Familiarity with building energy systems including HVAC, building automation systems, lighting, building envelope, and domestic water systems
  • Microgrid and energy security
  • Central steam plants
  • Cogeneration

Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 per year
