Lead Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Lead Medical Assistant at LifeBridge Health, you will play a vital role in managing clinical support staff to proactively respond to the needs of patients and physicians. Under the direct supervision of a physician, you will perform a variety of clinical responsibilities to assist in the examination and treatment of patients. Your duties will include preparing examination/treatment rooms, interviewing patients, performing routine physical assessments, and assisting healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare examination/treatment rooms for patient examinations by positioning instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Interview patients to obtain reasons for visit, including nature of complaint, physical problems, and symptoms of illness.
  • Prepare patients for examination by performing routine physical assessments, such as vital signs, height, weight, and blood pressure.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Assemble patient records and update and maintain patient charts, confidential files, and other departmental records.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities to support internal and external compliance standards.
  • Track and maintain logs for referrals for radiology, blood work, cytology, pathology, and miscellaneous testing.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or medical assistant curriculum or equivalent.
  • American Heart Association CPR Certification.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting.
