Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant provides administrative, direct patient care, and clinical support to the Ambulatory Services department. The Medical Assistant must have the ability to take adult and pediatric basic vital signs, document information in the electronic health record, and interact with administrative, medical staff, and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Ambulatory Services department.
  • Take adult and pediatric basic vital signs, including height and weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, and color vision.
  • Draw blood accurately and document information in the electronic health record.
  • Interact with administrative, medical staff, and patients in a professional manner.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current/valid Maryland Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience required; 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including verbal and written communications, interpersonal relations aptitude, and a professional approach to the execution of all assignments.
