Medical Assistant

Job Summary:
UPMC is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to work various daylight shifts at our Murrysville facility. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical team.
Responsibilities:
- Check schedules and organize patient flow to ensure a smooth and efficient experience.
- Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms and assist with walking, transfers, and other needs.
- Collect patient information, take vitals, and perform screenings as directed by providers.
- Relay instructions to patients and families, and provide education as needed.
- Send and receive patient medical records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments, and clean exam/procedure rooms to maintain infection control.
- Manage inventory of supplies, restock exam/procedure rooms, and perform other front office responsibilities.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs, and assist physicians with procedures.
- Document patient information into the medical record, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room responsibilities.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance required.
