Job Overview

Senior Property Underwriter

The Senior Property Underwriter will oversee a portfolio of property renewals while also generating new business opportunities.

This role primarily focuses on underwriting mono-line property risks, with an emphasis on cross-selling and identifying additional lines of business within the Commercial Insurance sector.

The Senior Property Underwriter is tasked with driving book growth, fostering strong relationships, and executing effective pricing strategies that enhance profitability. Underwriting responsibilities will include marketing and servicing accounts in alignment with Chubb's guidelines.

The selected candidate will be accountable for crafting and executing a strategic business plan aimed at expanding the property book through identifying prospects, developing a robust pipeline, producing new business, and managing accounts effectively.

The Senior Property Underwriter will hold responsibility for the financial performance of the property book, ensuring growth within the designated branch, region, and territory.

They will pinpoint growth opportunities within both new and existing production sources, identify cross-selling possibilities, engage in agency planning and goal setting, and conduct regular visits to brokers and insured clients.


Required Skills:

. Strong sales and marketing capabilities are essential.

. Proven success in marketing, managing producer relationships, and developing new business is required.

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to negotiate effectively at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders while nurturing key producer relationships.


. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of expertise in the underwriting process, risk assessment, and will work collaboratively with an Underwriting Associate.

. Effective desk management is a crucial aspect of this position.

. Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills are necessary for interacting with customers and colleagues at all levels.

. Knowledge and proficiency in underwriting technical issues, compliance, coverage, products, pricing, and strategies are expected.

. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software is required.

. We seek a highly motivated individual who is results-oriented and possesses solid business acumen.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.

A minimum of 2+ years of experience in commercial property underwriting is essential.

The compensation range for this role is $87,500 to $149,500, with specific offers dependent on the applicant's skills and other factors. This position may also be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual incentive program. The disclosed pay range may be adjusted based on geographic differentials applicable to the location of the position.
