Position Summary: The HR Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the daily functions of the Human Resources department. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities that require effective collaboration with personnel at all organizational levels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in addressing employee-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage employee relations matters, serving as a primary contact for inquiries and concerns while fostering a positive workplace through engagement initiatives.
- Oversee the HRIS system to ensure data accuracy, maintain personnel records, and process employment changes in coordination with management.
- Administer workers' compensation claims, including reporting, investigations, and coordination with relevant parties.
- Stay informed on compliance requirements and provide guidance on employment laws and regulations, supporting internal and external audits.
- Facilitate employee benefits programs, assisting with inquiries and managing vendor relationships to ensure effective plan administration.
- Support change management by communicating policy updates and ensuring compliance among staff.
- Assist in performance management processes, identifying training needs and tracking employee performance metrics.
- Conduct onboarding processes, including orientation and training on company policies to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
- Implement projects aimed at enhancing HR processes through research, data analysis, and recommendations.
- Lead recruitment efforts for various positions, managing job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination.
- Act as a liaison with staffing agencies for temporary staffing needs and related issues.
- Provide administrative support to maintain personnel records in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by embodying the organization's core values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in HR roles, particularly in generalist functions.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel as necessary.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
