Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care Holdings, Inc. As a key member of our dialysis healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Setup and operate hemodialysis machines to ensure accurate and efficient treatment
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to educate patients on dialysis therapy, including online clearance monitoring, adequacy monitoring, and disease process/access
- Perform vascular access cannulation, administer heparin as delegated, and obtain necessary pre and post-treatment vital signs and weight
- Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders, monitor patients' response to therapy, and obtain vital signs prior to reinfusion
- Document patient information accurately and timely, including treatment parameters and vital signs
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities to enhance patient satisfaction and quality of care
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification as defined by Center for Medicaid/Medicare (CMS)
- At least five years of patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred
- Successful completion of Fresenius dialysis training program and CPR certification required
