Job Summary

The LVN plays a vital role in the day-to-day coordination and monitoring of the clinic medication room. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills to ensure seamless patient care. As a key member of the team, the LVN will assist with supervision and scheduling of Medical Assistants in the absence of the LVN Supervisor.

Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions
  • Implement safe therapeutic care to patients by performing and documenting nursing procedures, demonstrating proficiency in nursing skills, and maintaining accurate medication administration.
  • Coordinate patient flow by reviewing appointment schedules, preparing schedules for Medical Assistants, and overseeing documentation in medical records.
  • Provide direct patient care by triaging walk-in patients, assisting with special and emergency procedures, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic physical environment.
  • Maintain professional responsibilities by understanding and functioning within the scope of practice, keeping certifications current, and participating in setting measurable performance goals.
Performance Dimensions and Tasks
  • Implement safe therapeutic care to patients by prioritizing workload, completing clinical assignments in a timely fashion, and maintaining equipment and supplies necessary for patient care.
  • Coordinate patient care activities with other nursing staff and physicians, seeking resources when necessary, and explaining test procedures and processes to patients and families.
  • Maintain cost containment by using supplies and equipment prudently and charging supplies appropriately.
