Youth Support Partner - Children's Intensive Services

Youth Support Partner – Full Time (40 hours/week)
Compass Health

Compass Health is actively seeking a Youth Support Partner to contribute to the Children's Intensive Services program.

The Children's Intensive Outpatient Services program is designed to assist children and their families within their community, utilizing a least restrictive approach through the Wraparound process. This method emphasizes the importance of family voice and choice, identifying strengths, building natural supports, and promoting self-sufficiency. Wraparound teams deliver comprehensive behavioral health services and support to Medicaid-eligible individuals, up to 21 years of age, who have complex behavioral health needs, along with their families. The primary objective of the program is to enable eligible youth to thrive in their homes and communities while minimizing or preventing disruptive out-of-home placements. Assessment, treatment, and support services are delivered in the natural settings of the youth and family, such as home, school, and community, where challenges arise. Families report positive outcomes, including enhanced stability, increased support, community connections, and renewed hope for the future.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team to provide a tailored, innovative, and strength-based approach within the wraparound model. This role focuses on supporting youth and caregivers to ensure children remain in a community-based and least restrictive environment.

This position requires a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours, both in the office and within the community. Youth Support Partners engage with clients to foster their active participation in informed decision-making throughout the wraparound process. They ensure that each client's voice is heard and that their unique needs are addressed effectively. Youth Support Partners possess personal experience with behavioral health challenges as youth, enabling them to connect with and inspire hope in the youth they serve.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; AA or BA Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Completion of online modules and application for the Certified Peer Counselor credential through the Department of Health prior to start date.
  • In-person/live certification must be completed within 90 days of hire. Current Peer Counselor Certification is preferred.

  • Experience in medical, mental health, or social services fields is preferred.
  • Some knowledge of child development, behavior management, and parenting techniques, particularly with culturally diverse families.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License, including vehicle and appropriate insurance.

  • Familiarity with community resources.
  • Ability to collaborate, provide peer support, and facilitate services for families receiving high-intensity services.
  • Capacity to partner with consumers, mental health professionals, and the community while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Adeptness in consulting with Wraparound facilitators to determine roles in welcome, engagement, and assessment activities when appropriate.
  • Knowledge of in-home and intensive services, with prior experience working with culturally diverse families preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with complex needs and multi-system involvement.
  • Capacity to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when addressing conflicts or challenges.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
