Government Relations Specialist

At Optica, we are seeking a highly skilled Specialist, Government Relations to join our Global Policy & Affairs team. This role will focus on US federal government relations, working closely with government staff, Optica volunteers, and internal and external nonprofit and industry staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the Congressional Fellowship program, including marketing, publicity, and selection process.
- Organize Capitol Hill visits days for volunteers, including training, logistics, setting meetings, scheduling, and leading Hill meetings.
- Track relevant legislation and policies and seek opportunities to promote optics and photonics to government audiences.
- Attend and report back on committee and coalition meetings.
- Develop and implement effective public affairs strategies to advance Optica's policy goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support the development and implementation of policy initiatives.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong project management, organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
- Knowledge of US federal policymaking processes.
- Experience working in or with Congress and/or the Executive branch.
