Indiana University Health Physicians is offering an exciting opportunity for a Pediatric Ophthalmologist in Indianapolis. This position includes a faculty role with the Indiana University School of Medicine. The Department of Ophthalmology is a well-respected entity with extensive experience in the treatment and management of pediatric eye conditions. Our team comprises 8 MDs and 4 ODs dedicated to training future ophthalmologists and enhancing treatments and prevention strategies for eye diseases and vision disorders through innovative research.

Position Highlights:

  • Deliver comprehensive, high-quality pediatric ophthalmologic care, addressing conditions such as ROP, strabismus, glaucoma, cataracts, and oculoplastics.
  • Participate in ROP coverage for IUH Facilities and partner systems in the Indianapolis metropolitan area.
  • Engage with a diverse pediatric patient population and manage adult strabismus cases, with a significant patient volume weekly.
  • Enjoy a favorable work-life balance with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, including shared on-call responsibilities.
  • Experience 95% outpatient care.
  • Faculty appointment with the Indiana University School of Medicine includes opportunities for clinical education, supervision, and research.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
  • Experience in the evaluation and treatment of ROP is essential.
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Ophthalmology.
  • New graduates and seasoned professionals are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
  • Must hold an MD/DO license in Indiana or be eligible for medical licensure.
