Key Responsibilities:
The Automation Specialist works closely with Maintenance and Production teams to enhance safety and streamline rebar fabrication processes. Duties include applying engineering principles to troubleshoot equipment, implement enhancements, and develop future improvement strategies. The role may involve addressing hardware and software issues outside of regular hours. Flexibility is essential, as the position requires both scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekend, and holiday work. This regional role necessitates travel to various sites for proactive problem-solving, team training, maintenance support, and knowledge sharing. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Supervisor/Manager as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Process, Electrical, or Automation Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Expertise in complex control systems
- A minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Solid understanding of maintenance processes and electrical principles, including networking tools, interpreting electrical schematics, and basic pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with aSa software
- 2-3 years of experience in a reinforcing steel fabrication environment
