Job Summary

Interstate Advanced Materials is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Operator to join our team. As a CNC Programmer/Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery and equipment, such as routers, mills, lathes, grinders, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program and Operate CNC Machines: Program and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as routers, grinding, milling, etc.
  • Read and Interpret Prints: Understand the specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc. Accurately read and interpret prints, 3D models, and general work instructions.
  • Translate Instructions into Computer Commands: Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
  • Prepare and Load Raw Materials: Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
  • Test Runs and Quality Control: Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications. Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been appropriately completed, ensuring quality and accuracy
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality. Maintain quality control documents and update setup information
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work as a team with other employees to help the branch reach its goals
Requirements:
  • CNC Fabrication Experience: CNC fabrication experience is a must, as well as experience with precision measurement tools
  • Computer Programming Skills: Must be computer savvy and programming experience with Mastercam preferred
  • Mathematical Skills: Mathematical skills: Add, subtract, multiply, divide. Compute rate, ratios, & percentages.
  • Attention to Detail: Self-motivated, able to work with minimal direct supervision
