About the Job
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Supervisor to join our team at Putnam Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. As a Nurse Supervisor, you will be responsible for organizing and overseeing unit activities, supervising staff assignments, and demonstrating clinical expertise consistent with established nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and oversee unit activities and staff assignments
- Supervise and direct nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, treatments, and responses
- Administer medications and treatments as needed
- Communicate with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and other vendors/services
- Perform RN assessments to identify patient needs and concerns
- Lead and direct emergency situations, such as fire alarms and elopements
- Maintain accurate nursing reports, staffing sheets, and census rosters
Requirements
- Current and good standing RN license in the State of New York
- Previous experience with geriatric/short-term rehabilitation/Alzheimer's patients is desirable
- Progressive nursing experience in a geriatric setting, with supervisory experience preferred
- Dedicated to providing extraordinary, quality, compassionate care to each resident
- Genuinely interested in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes challenging residents
- Have patience and willingness to assist any residents and co-workers
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organization skills
- Able to work well under pressure, flexible, and will work harmoniously with all staff
