Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Splunk Engineer Software Developer to join our team at Fox Technology Center, LLC. As a key member of our monitoring team, you will work closely with our support teams to design, implement, and optimize Splunk applications, including queries, knowledge objects, and data models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize Splunk applications, including queries, knowledge objects, and data models.
- Develop new dashboards, searches, and alerts.
- Perform advanced scripting tasks with Splunk to automate repeatable processes using Python and JavaScript.
- Design and implement customer searches and reports.
- Provide extensive knowledge of Splunk and train Splunk users on tool capabilities and innovations as required.
- Implement and maintain Splunk platform infrastructure and configuration.
- Undertake day-to-day operational and user support.
- Execute new projects as well as data and user onboarding.
- Provide primary escalation for Splunk platform system-related assistance and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate Splunk administration and development or related experience in administering Splunk cluster or similar big data system.
Experience must include two (2) years of experience installing, building and working with Splunk Apps and add-ons; automation of Splunk infrastructure configurations; tuning and configuring Splunk App for Enterprise Security (ES); managing Linux servers; and using Splunk search language.
Preferred Skills:
- Distributed Splunk installation, Multi-site Indexer Cluster, Search Head Cluster, Forwarders (Universal/Heavy), Deployer, Deployment Server and HTTP Event Collector.
- Index-time and Search-time data parsing.
- Splunk best practices, workflows, and processes.
- Python and shell scripting.
- Splunk dashboards and Splunk alerts.
- Git or other source control platforms.
