CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in culinary, food service, or a related professional field.
OR

  • 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline; 2 years of experience in culinary, food service, or a related professional field.

Leading the Pastry Team

  • Utilizes strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead, motivate, and inspire others; promotes sound financial and business decision-making; exemplifies integrity and leads by example.
  • Supervises and manages team members. Oversees daily operations. Possesses sufficient knowledge of employee roles to perform duties in their absence.

  • Ensures and maintains the productivity levels of team members.
  • Clarifies expectations and guidelines for employees.

  • Leads shifts while personally preparing food items and fulfilling requests based on specifications.

  • Maintains standards for food handling and proper storage.
  • Ensures compliance with purchasing, receiving, and food storage protocols.
  • Supports procedures for food and beverage portion control and waste management.
  • Adheres to proper handling and temperature regulations for all food products.
  • Supervises pastry preparation operations and ensures adherence to all food and beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepares and cooks a variety of foods, either regularly or for special events.
  • Checks the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met.
  • Assists in determining food presentation and creates decorative displays.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Delivers services that exceed expectations for customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Manages daily operations, ensuring quality standards and customer expectations are consistently met.
  • Enhances service by communicating with individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and coaching as necessary.

  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction in all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.

Maintaining Culinary Goals

  • Achieves and surpasses goals including performance, budget, and team objectives.
  • Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work tasks.
  • Trains team members in safety protocols and supervises adherence to loss prevention policies to prevent accidents and manage costs.
  • Procures necessary supplies and manages inventory in accordance with budgetary constraints.

Supports Training and Development Activities

  • Ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process.
  • Participates in training staff on menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and unique flavors.
  • Reviews staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
  • Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
  • Assists in the recruitment and hiring of team members with appropriate skills as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates through various communication methods.
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to determine the best solutions to problems.
  • Brings issues to the attention of the department manager and Human Resources as necessary.
  • Attends and participates in all relevant meetings.
The salary range for this position is $76,000 to $99,000 annually.
