Role Overview:


Are you enthusiastic about delivering high-quality food service in a Head Start Center setting? As a Site Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to execute food service activities that comply with Head Start Performance Standards and California State Community Care Licensing regulations.

You will collaborate with your team to ensure safe and efficient meal service for children, maintain a clean and sanitary food service environment, and assist in supervising children during mealtime.

Moreover, you will play a key role in promoting good health and nutrition, while also engaging in team-building initiatives within the program.

Qualifications:


To excel in this position, you should possess at least six units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Early Childhood Development (ECD), a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid California Driver's License.

Additionally, you must be able to pass the Community Care Licensing criminal record clearance and have up-to-date immunizations and health screenings.

Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are preferred, and a basic understanding of human growth and development is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, and kneel
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving up to 20 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required
